Privacy Policy
We keep it simple - because LensBooth is simple. Here's exactly what happens with your data.
Last updated: July 2026The short version
Camera access
LensBooth uses your device camera for a live preview and to capture photos during an active booth session. We do not:
- Continuously record your camera when you are not in an active session
- Upload your live Shared Booth video stream for permanent storage
- Access your camera outside of an active booth session
In Shared Booth, peer video uses a direct connection where possible. Signaling metadata may pass through our servers so the session can connect, but your live video is not kept as a saved recording on our servers.
Photos you capture are processed in your browser. They remain on your device unless you choose to save, share, download, or voluntarily submit them to an optional LensBooth feature (for example Community Spotlight).
What we may store
Depending on how you use LensBooth, we may process or store:
- Booth session data: temporary booth IDs and connection state needed to run Solo/Shared sessions (typically short-lived and deleted when the session ends or expires)
- Usage counters: aggregate numbers such as photos snapped, booths created, and visitor/activity totals used for product stats
- Limited technical identifiers: short-lived identifiers (for example hashed/session-related values or IP-derived uniqueness for visitor counting) used for abuse protection and aggregate stats - not sold as a personal profile
- Feedback: messages and optional contact details you send through feedback or contact forms
- Community submissions: images and related metadata you explicitly submit for Community Spotlight (reviewed before public feature)
Analytics & cookies
On production visits (not local development), after you accept cookies we may load:
- Google Analytics 4 - page and event analytics to understand product usage
- Microsoft Clarity - session insights to improve usability
These tools may use cookies, similar storage, or device/browser information (including IP addresses as received by those providers). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics may limit our ability to measure and improve LensBooth.
Advertising
LensBooth may use Google AdSense or similar advertising partners in the future to help support the product. If ads are enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites
- You can learn about Google ads and opt-out options via Google's Ads Settings
- We will not place ads inside the live camera capture experience in a way that interferes with safe use of the booth
Our publisher identity for Google advertising authorization is published in /ads.txt at the site root.
Children
LensBooth is intended for a general audience. If you are under the age required by your country's laws to consent to online services/data processing, use LensBooth only with a parent or guardian. Do not submit personal information for a child through feedback or community forms.
Your choices
- Deny camera permission in your browser to stop capture
- Avoid optional community submission and feedback forms if you do not want that data stored
- Clear site data/cookies in your browser
- Contact us via the Contact page for privacy questions or deletion requests related to voluntary submissions we hold
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as LensBooth evolves. The "Last updated" date on this page will change when we do. Continued use of LensBooth after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
